We had the best time capturing this momma’s very last baby! She wanted an amazing art piece for her baby girls room. And she wanted it to be UNDERWATER! It was so much fun! We created it in swimming pool. Can you believe it?

Isn’t she stunning! I have a behind the scenes video to watch as well!

I had two assistants who helped wave the pink fabric in the pool. Then we had another person filming us!

It was a little cold outside, but we had the pool heated up to the 70s at least! We took these in March. It was a bit windy! We were cold!

While taking underwater photos, you have to try to minimize the bubbles and movement so that the image can still be sharp!

Her little girls name is Lily, so we had to add the flower into her hair.

I’m so honored that I was chosen to capture her underwater maternity portraits for her.

Most clients choose to do their maternity session between 30-34 weeks pregnant. That way we don’t cut it to close to your due date. Everyone likes to use more than one gown as well for a little variety in their maternity gallery.

There is nothing like being able to hold a brand new baby. Look how adorable his little feet are! He is less than 24 hours old. I love his wrinkly toes.

Finally the hospitals are allowing some visitors inside! I haven’t been able to do a fresh 48 baby session in a year. That yawn!

What is it about baby toes? So wrinkly and so precious.

Lucca was born On August 6th at 4:30pm! Momma went in after her water broke and she had a relatively easy and fast (easy for child birth anyway). We know it’s not easy!

He is a little over 8lb and the cutest brown hair. Look at that little tongue.

Isn’t he perfect in every way? 8lb of perfect!

Fresh 48’s are typically done within 48 hours and inside the hospital room. They can be done at home though if you prefer (especially with the rules of the hospitals in Houston, sometimes we have to mix it up). These are different than a typical newborn portrait session because they are not posed. Traditional newborn pictures include the baby being all wrapped up and posed into different positions. I love his little feet in this newborn picture. Newborn portraits are usually done within two weeks of time. My favorite days to capture newborn portraits are usually 9-11 days.

He just curled up in this adorable pose and I just knew it would be a favorite. Those little arm rolls are the best.

Mom wanted beige/neutral/grays for his session and his skin tone looked perfect with them!

Bunker Hill Gardens photographer

MJ’s Photography is a Bunker Hill Gardens photographer that specializes in newborn, maternity, and family portraits.

I had the honor of meeting this amazing family back in East Texas. Mason is their third baby girl and they wanted me to travel from Houston to Fort Worth to capture this special moment. It was worth the drive, all 3 of these sweet girls did amazing! Could they be more perfect? I love them so much!

Guess how Mason was born? In the truck about 10 minutes from the hospital! Daddy is an ER doctor but couldn’t help because he was driving. They also waited until birth to find out her gender, so cool!
