Hi!

I am a portrait photographer who lives in Fulshear, Texas, right outside of Katy and Houston. I specialize in maternity, newborn, headshots and family portraits. I service Fort Bend; Cypress, Katy, Fulshear, The Woodlands, The Heights and Houston areas.

I started my business, MJ’s Photography, in 2014. My love for my daughter Emma Lyn, ignited my passion for photography. Just the same as I treat her portraits, with passion, love, and creativity, I strive to bring out each person’s unique identity and capture their true personality. These encounters drive my passion for photography and challenge me to use my tools in new ways. This is my artistic expression.

This is not a job for me. I love outdoor family and maternity portrait sessions, and in-studio newborn sessions. I want to create that perfect image for my clients to hang on their wall for years to come. Their happiness creates my happiness. I have created heirloom photos for many families who will pass them on for generations.

Fulshear newborn photography – Jaxson

MJ’s Photography does Fulshear newborn photography. She is serving the Central Texas/Houston community for newborn and maternity portraiture.

I have an in home studio located in Katy Texas, near Fulshear Texas. It is a perfect little space for newborn portraits.

Look how perfect Jaxson looks in neutrals. My amazing husband found each board and built my floor drop for me.

Jaxson has a big sister and isn’t she gorgeous? I adore these sibling pictures of these two.

We all know my favorite pose is the potato sack pose. I mean….just look how adorable his profile is. So perfect in every way. And that little smirk! AAAHH

I just love when these sweet babies smile. It’s even better when it’s with mommy. Just look at how perfect Jaxson is with his mom.

Daddy was all smiles with his baby boy. I can see the resemblance.

This family one is so amazing and so real!

It’s all in the details. The toes, fingers, nose, and the lips. It’s all important to capture, they change so quickly. Soon those little lips will be talking, toes will be walking, and those little fingers will be grabbing.

Baby toes. I am obsessed with them. They deserve a huge spot because they are just adorable. Is there anyone who doesn’t love baby toes? His chunky toes are the best!

I love making a composite for every gallery. He looked so cute in this bear outfit, this composite fit perfectly!

He wasn’t the biggest fan of being naked, but we got this image and I am so glad! Those little back rolls are perfect in every way! (The only time in life they are ha ha!)

Mommy brought this special J to the session.

Maternity photography cypress tx – MJ’s Photography

MJ’s Photography is Maternity photography cypress tx.

When you are expecting a baby, it is such an amazing time in your life! At the time you are tired and you do not feel like yourself, but the truth is that you are amazing! You are creating something bigger than yourself, a tiny little newborn baby. That is what I love about my “job.” I get to capture these short, but amazing moments in peoples lives.

I love that I get to meet mommy’s before their little one is here. I capture them while they are carrying their precious baby. Every maternity session is different, every mommy is different, and that is what makes it so special.

Meet Allana. As you scroll these you are going to think “WOW she is gorgeous!” She most certainly is. She made pregnancy look so good. I loved capturing her carrying her princess.

Grayson was so excited to be a big brother. I’m not sure he fully understood what it entailed, but he put on a show regardless! He was quite the ham during mommy’s maternity session in Houston Texas.

We then went to another location with a field in Cypress, Texas. Grayson loved running around! Mom changed into a gown by Couture parfait and she looked gorgeous in it!

Isn’t this a perfect family portrait? Just look at Grayson’s face! He is perfect.

I told mommy to put on her model face and she delivered. I am in LOVE with these. She has a gorgeous baby bump!

Now on to Avery’s newborn portraits! Miss Avery decided to come early. She made her grand arrival at just 3lb! After some NICU stay, we finally got to schedule her newborn session. I was very excited to finally get to meet her.

She definitely makes the quote “Though she be small, she is mighty,” true. She took a little persuading, but we got an amazing gallery of her. With lots of patience and extra cuddles, her gallery was very full!

Look at that smile! Isn’t she perfect?

She was so tiny at her newborn session! She was around 5 pounds. Look how beautiful she looks in neutrals.

She was so tiny in this standard bucket. Just look at her size compared to the bucket. Ahhhhh I just love this pose on her.

Mommy brought her wedding gown to Avery’s newborn session. Such a timeless portrait. This will be so special to display on her wedding day.

Look at her in pinks. She gave the prettiest smile and I was so glad that I caught it.

If you guys knew what it took to get this portrait of Avery, you wouldn’t believe it! Mommy knows and I think that makes it just that more special. Mommy wanted a naked shot and I am so glad that we got it. Right after I got this, she leaped right up!

If you thought she was gorgeous in pink, just wait until you see her in purple!

We also did sibling portraits with Grayson and Avery. Grayson was quite the model for me at my Hallsville studio.

Mommy did some one on ones with Avery in the same maternity gown. Gah she is gorgeous!

Remi was such a doll at her newborn session. At 3 weeks old, she weighed around 6 pounds. She had the most beautiful skin and dark brown hair.

Being a Newborn studio near Katy in Houston Texas means I get to snuggle lots of newborns. She was 3 weeks old and slept very well during her session. We got so many great snuggly poses during her portrait session.

Remi was wide eyed during the beginning of her session. Her eye contact at 3 weeks old was spectacular! In their family picture, she had amazing eye contact with me.

I love when I am able to capture a newborn with their eyes open. Sometimes we focus so much on the asleep newborn pictures, that we forget that we want to see what their eyes looked like during this stage too. Don’t get me wrong, I do want them to sleep for most of the session, but I do like some showing their eyes!

It’s important to find a newborn photographer that matches the style that you are wanting. These are once in a lifetime portraits for your precious baby. They will never again be this little or new.

I have a posed newborn style and I like contrasting shadows in my portraits. Deeper, darker editing style is what I tend to lean towards. I make sure to capture every detail, from their lashes to their toes. Overshooting is a habit and I tend to give a larger gallery to choose from. I just can’t help it! Babies are beautiful and it is hard to stop.

It is all in the details…it is so important to capture every single one. Nothing is too small. Love love love the details!

Ohhhhhh 6 months old. What a fun age. Their little personalities are coming to fruition. The laughs, the giggles, and all the smiles. It is such a fun age to capture. They are half a year, not a newborn, but not a toddler quite yet. Baby rolls are still in tact and they can’t quite get away from you, most of them anyway. Elise is sitting up so well and has been since she was 5 months old.

Elise is already 6 months old and I absolutely cannot believe it. Time really flies. She has the bubbliest personality and is the calmest baby! Her dimple chin gets me every single time! I look back at the past 6 months and cannot imagine my life without her. She brings so much joy not only to me and my husband, but to her big sister. I love how much they love each other.

Just look at her hair. Her nickname is Mo…because of her adorable mohawk! No we do not style it that way, but we definitely do not try to lay it down either. That hair is her and we love it just how it is.

I love being able to capture this precious milestone. Before you know it, they will be walking and into everything. It’s such a sweet age. Cuddles are still an option! Just look at that smile. My hearts melts every time I see it.

For half a year sessions, they can either be outdoor or indoor in my studio in Houston Texas. Katy to be exact. Some times, weather permitting, we do a little of both!

Katy newborn photography – twin boys

MJ’s Photography is a Katy newborn photography.

MJ’s Photography just moved to the Katy/Cypress/Deer Park area and specializes in newborn, maternity, and family portraits.

Just before moving to Katy, I got to capture these two precious boys, Isaac and Jameson! How cute are they? They made their arrival just in the nick of time before I moved to Katy.

When Allison told me that she was expected twin boys, I searched for the perfect outfits for this duo. Little foxes. Can they be any cuter?

Of course both of the boys needed their individual model time. Both boys slept great and were the best little models! This pose is the potato sack pose, my favorite! It shows off their little profiles perfectly.

They may look easily cuddled up together, but getting both boys faces to show perfectly was no easy task! They loved being close to one another, just as they had been for the past months in mommy’s belly. This one is a favorite of mine!

I love how this image showcases the similarities and differences in Isaac and Jameson. They are both so perfect!

We all loved how this looked like they were high fiving with their feet! Baby toes are just the best.

And in just a blink of an eye, they were a family of four. Two perfect baby boys to a happy mom and dad!

We all know that I can not resist the bear hats. What is cuter than a newborn baby in a bear hat? Two newborn babies in bear hats! Ohhhhh my heart!

Sometimes the best image is just the babies. No distractions, just them.

And here is my favorite image from the entire session! I could stare at them all day. Just two precious brothers, bonded for life. I am so thankful to be chosen to capture their newborn portraits.

Lily was 6 days new at her newborn session. She was almost 10lbs and extra squishy. I just loved posing her in all of the sweet newborn poses.

Mom ordered this one in a large canvas for her nursery. Pink and gold flamingos is her nursery theme, it’s going to look amazing! Just look at all of those tiny back rolls.

How cute is Miss Lily in this teddy bear hat? I adore getting their profile shots. They show off every inch of their perfect newborn face. If you are looking for a newborn photographer in Katy who specializes in newborns, look no further.

Deer park newborn photographer – Lorelai

MJ’s photography is a Deer park newborn photographer. I have an in home studio just outside of Deer Park in Katy, Texas.

Lorelai did amazing for her newborn portrait session. We went through a lot of setups in my in home studio and she slept for most of it! Her parents decided to wait to find out if she was a girl or boy at birth. Mommy and I thought for sure she was having a sweet girl, Daddy was certain she was a boy. Mommy was right!

Her daddy is in the military, so we had to include a setup with his helmet! (dog tags blurred out for safety reasons)

Mommy loves flowers, things of the sea, and navy blue! Daddy loves navy blue and his newborn baby girl in pink!

We did a soft pink set up for daddy. She looks so sweet all curled up with her newborn toes.

Mommy works for a dive shop and everyone said she was having a little mermaid. I’m sure you can guess where I am going with this!

I love curling up these sweet newborn babies into bowls and baskets. It shows just how small they really are.

Capturing those tiny little details is so important in newborn photography. They grow up so fast and you want to remember every little thing about them. The newborn stage is over before you blink.

I love the potato sack pose for newborn sessions. It shows off their profile so well. Here is the setup with their navy blue! Look at those precious lips and eyelashes.

I provide all of the props for newborn sessions at MJ’s photography – Deer park newborn photographer. I bought the sweetest little leggings for a setup. Her mom said she looked like a sweet baby deer.

Most newborn photographers want their newborn babies to be asleep the whole time. I actually prefer when they are awake for a little bit. Capturing their open eyes is just another detail that you do not want to forget. Their eye color changes and so do their little expressions. Look how cute Lorelai’s newborn expressions are.

Family portraits are so important during newborn sessions. Your baby will cherish these when they are older. Here is a little share of their family portraits in black and white.
