Miss Macee was such a ham for her first birthday portraits. I have been lucky enough to capture her from the time she was in her mommy’s belly until now. She has sure grown, but that precious personality has stayed the same.
She has the most beautiful and captivating eyes.
This little girl gave out the biggest smiles for her daddy during her first birthday portraits. Mom did amazing with her outfits!

Then we get to the fun part….the CAKE! I love watching them dig in. Macee was all about her cake, she went to town on it! She had the cutest little beard from the icing.
Just look at her grin! She sure does know how to smash a cake!

Lily was 6 days new at her newborn session. She was almost 10lbs and extra squishy. I just loved posing her in all of the sweet newborn poses.
Mom ordered this one in a large canvas for her nursery. Pink and gold flamingos is her nursery theme, it’s going to look amazing! Just look at all of those tiny back rolls.

I have been taking big brother Grant’s portraits since he was around 3 months old. I loved getting to capture them both together. Every mom wants a sibling portrait. Grant did wonderful during Lily’s newborn session.

MJ’s photography is a Deer park newborn photographer. I have an in home studio just outside of Deer Park in Katy, Texas.
Lorelai did amazing for her newborn portrait session. We went through a lot of setups in my in home studio and she slept for most of it! Her parents decided to wait to find out if she was a girl or boy at birth. Mommy and I thought for sure she was having a sweet girl, Daddy was certain she was a boy. Mommy was right!
Her daddy is in the military, so we had to include a setup with his helmet! (dog tags blurred out for safety reasons)

Capturing those tiny little details is so important in newborn photography. They grow up so fast and you want to remember every little thing about them. The newborn stage is over before you blink.

Most newborn photographers want their newborn babies to be asleep the whole time. I actually prefer when they are awake for a little bit. Capturing their open eyes is just another detail that you do not want to forget. Their eye color changes and so do their little expressions. Look how cute Lorelai’s newborn expressions are.

I am so in love with how they turned out. It is so important to capture these moments with your newborn baby. That first month goes by so quickly. Before you know it, they are one.
Even grandma joined in on her granddaughters newborn pictures. This will be such a special picture for Zailey when she is older.
The neutral setup with lots of white may be my favorite! She looks gorgeous with those newborn curls.

Deciding to do your own baby’s newborn portraits is no easy task. When she finally falls asleep, all I wanted to do was sleep! In order to get her pictures done, I had to forgo the nap for a couple weeks and dedicate myself to getting great images of her.
My main priority was a sibling picture with my 3.5 year old. I was so excited when I got it! Here it is below. I have it printed large in a canvas print. I am in love with it!

Elise is a very alert baby. She is a tougher newborn to photograph. I always tell parents that not every baby will go into every pose. That proved true for my baby girl. Luckily there are lots of different poses to try and I got quite a few of her.
Her daddy is an aviator in the Army. I had to include a setup of her in her daddy’s helicopter helmet.
My baby girl’s nursery is decorated in pink and gray, so a pink setup was a must! I did quite a few different poses in pink. Who doesn’t love pink on a baby girl?
You can see by my newborn portfolio, that I am a huge neutral fan. I love how neutral colors look with every newborn’s skin tone.Minimal props is another thing that I am drawn to. Having the babies as the center of attention is my main goal. This setup is after my own heart.
A baby in a bucket? Who doesn’t love seeing a tiny baby in a bucket. We will blink and they will no longer fit. Using little bowls and buckets shows their size comparison at that age.

Sibling pictures were first with big brother. He wasn’t so sure at first, but we got the perfect portrait of them two together! Mommy printed it out huge on a 20×30 canvas. I’m sure she lights up every time she walks by it in her home. How could you not? Both babies are smiling!
I love getting a variety of shots during newborn sessions. From baskets, to bowls, to backdrops, I make sure you have a variety to choose from. A variety of images makes a beautiful album. Avery’s heirloom album turned out perfect.
I think the navy setup was one my favorite! There is something so beautiful about a little girl in blue!
She was born around Christmas time, so we included a holiday setup even if her session was a few days after Christmas. She is perfect all wrapped up in a Santa sack!
Here is another sweet setup for Avery. This first pose is called the taco pose(I’m not sure why) but I just love how it shows off her gorgeous face, tiny fingers, and perfect little toes.
Some floral and pop of color went so well with her skin tone. Baby fingers and baby toes are just the absolute sweetest.
Mommy said she loved the purples, so I made sure to include a purple newborn setup. It turned out perfectly! Her little newborn toes look like a bouquet of toes!
Mommy mentioned her love for pinks as well, I think Avery can pull of just about any color.

Miss Aubree was a doll during her newborn portrait session with MJ’s Photography. She was so full of beautiful smiles. Aubree had a head full of dark hair and the sweetest little dimple every time that she would smile. Her family traveled a couple of hours for her newborn session and I am so glad they did!
She rocked her “potato sack” pose. (seen above) That pose is just my favorite because it lets you see their little faces in all their glory!
Big sister Ansley is such a happy and easy-going toddler. She was full of smiles, laughter, and fun. She adores her baby sister and was very eager to hold her for some sibling photos. Sibling photos are not always quite this easy with young toddlers.
We did some family photos before we started Aubree’s newborn session. We were tucked away in the shade in a nice little field.

After we did some outdoor family portraits, we moved inside for some sibling photos as well as Aubree’s newborn portraits. Ansley and Aubree did so well! I just adore this sweet moment.
Aubree went into each pose and even smiled for quite a few. Doesn’t she look perfect in this mustard bow?

I got the pleasure of photographing Macee’s mommy’s maternity portraits, Macee’s birth, and Macee’s newborn portraits. Being able to document this amazing time in their life was truly a blessing. Macee had already changed looks from when I took her pictures during birth. They grow and they change so fast!
Her daddy is in the Army, so capturing her with her daddy in his uniform during her newborn session was necessary. I can not think of anything sweeter.

Macee’s mommy requested a portrait of Macee wearing her (Macee’s mom) outfit that she wore home from the hospital. I’ve never had this request before and it turned out amazing! It was still in perfect condition.
Macee shared so many smiles during her newborn portrait session. She has this adorable dimple that just makes you smile every time she smiles.

I was so excited when I met with Teddy’s mom before his session. She brought big brother along to the studio and I got to know him a little bit before hand. They are a military family and Dad would be getting out the week Teddy was born! Talk about stressful. Changing jobs, moving states, all with a newborn and a toddler! Whew! We had a week to fit him in, and I am so glad we were able to do it!
Of course since his name is Teddy, we had to do a setup in his newborn session with a teddy bear. Oh and dress him like a Teddy bear too! Look at those precious newborn lips!
Newborn sessions are my calling. When I get to meet these sweet babies, my mind and my heart work together to make each session unique and tailored to each baby.
Since Daddy was getting out of the military and big brother had his newborn session with Daddy’s gear, we had to do a military setup for Teddy. It’s hard to imagine that one day Teddy’s feet will fit into those boots.
