At MJ’s Photography, the couture maternity gowns are provided for your session. I have a closet full of the couture maternity gowns for my clients to wear during their sessions. I like to bring all of my mommies in to try them on before their maternity portrait session, that way we find the best one for you. There are lots of different styles and colors to choose from.
Ayshia fell in love with the teal gown and it looks amazing on her. She has the perfect skin tone for it. She is due next month with her first baby. She is having a baby boy and his name is going to be Mason.
Baby Mason is so loved already. These two cannot wait to meet him.
I absolutely adore the blush maternity gown on Ayshia as well. This was one of my favorite shots of her. She is just stunning.
I absolutely love her genuine smile. I told daddy to make her laugh and he did easily. Their love just shown throughout the whole session.
Ayshia also chose the white lace gown. Doesn’t she look amazing? She put it on and I just knew these water shots were going to be perfect. This was one of their favorites.
Who knew you could do water shots in the beginning of February? Only in Central Texas! I love our weather.
I tend to book two months out. If you are looking to book for a Katy Fulshear maternity photography, please message me as soon as possible.

MJ’s Photography | Looking for a newborn photographer near Cross Creek Ranch in Fulshear?
Miss Avery was an amazing newborn model at 6 days new. She was my very last newborn session of 2016 and I could not have asked for a better baby! She was gorgeous. Look at her sweet profile in the potato sack pose.
Looking for a newborn photographer near Cross Creek Ranch in Fulshear? What does that mean?
I am a boutique photography studio located in Fulshear, Texas. This means that I only accept a certain amount of clients per month. This method ensures that each client will get fantastic customer service and a customized experience.
I customize everything we do to exactly what you are looking for. Before your session we will have a pre-consultation. This is when we will discuss your vision for your portraits and create your custom experience. I offer several options to create the perfect art for your family. This can include wall art, heirloom albums, and fine art prints. After your session, I will sit down with you and help you select which products are perfect for your family. Your chosen images are all hand edited with techniques that I have learned and perfected over the years.
I am with my clients from beginning to end. Every client leaves with beautiful products and prints. There is something so amazing about getting to see your gorgeous images in your home every single day.
Sibling pictures were first with big brother. He wasn’t so sure at first, but we got the perfect portrait of them two together! Mommy printed it out huge on a 20×30 canvas. I’m sure she lights up every time she walks by it in her home. How could you not? Both babies are smiling!
I love getting a variety of shots during newborn sessions. From baskets, to bowls, to backdrops, I make sure you have a variety to choose from. A variety of images makes a beautiful album. Avery’s heirloom album turned out perfect.
I think the navy setup was one my favorite! There is something so beautiful about a little girl in blue!
She was born around Christmas time, so we included a holiday setup even if her session was a few days after Christmas. She is perfect all wrapped up in a Santa sack!
Here is another sweet setup for Avery. This first pose is called the taco pose(I’m not sure why) but I just love how it shows off her gorgeous face, tiny fingers, and perfect little toes.
Some floral and pop of color went so well with her skin tone. Baby fingers and baby toes are just the absolute sweetest.
Mommy said she loved the purples, so I made sure to include a purple newborn setup. It turned out perfectly! Her little newborn toes look like a bouquet of toes!
Mommy mentioned her love for pinks as well, I think Avery can pull of just about any color.
I am still swooning over Virginia in purple. She rocked her newborn session with MJ’s Photography. I knew this image was going to be a favorite because of that little smile on her face. This one printed beautifully and I know mom is enjoying looking at it every day in her home.
This newborn pose is one of my favorites, it is called the potato sack. Don’t ask me who comes up with these names. I do think this one fits the pose perfectly though!
MJ’s photography is a Richmond newborn photographer and I am fully trained in posing your newborn. When I am photographing your baby, safety is the number one priority.
It’s important to know the difference between a lifestyle newborn photographer and a posed newborn photographer. You don’t want to book the wrong one!
Lifestyle newborn portraits
Your little one’s nursery is typically where these portraits take place. Moments are captured in your little one’s crib, casually with mom and dad in the nursery, or even wrapped in their favorite blanket. There is little to no posing, hence lifestyle. These photographers typically do not bring props or outfits. I am not a lifestyle newborn photographer, but can refer you to a great one if that is your vision for your newborn.
Posed newborn portraits
These portraits will most likely take place in a studio space. A studio setting helps keep lighting consistent because lighting is key in these sessions. Most professionals will provide all of the newborn props, newborn outfits, and backdrops. They also should be trained in posing your newborn. These sessions typically take 2-3 hours.
I truly enjoy being a posed newborn photographer. Each newborn is different, as we know. Some prefer their legs up, some prefer them to be down. Other babies like to be swaddled up nice and tight, while the other half of the babies are completely fine laying uncovered. Each session is different and a professional newborn photographer will get a feel for exactly how your baby will pose.
Virginia went into a variety of posing. I love the color palette that her mommy chose!

Customizing your newborn’s session based on your preferred color palette is another thing that I do. I always try to include your newborn’s nursery colors in their session. When it comes to choosing your favorite portrait for a finished Fine Art Canvas or print, it will match perfectly to their nursery decor.
Virginia’s mom and dad requested this setup below. It is gorgeous!
We photographed big sister Lilly with antlers and they wanted them included in Virginia’s session as well. I just love how these turned out.
I always include some black and white images in my clients gallery. Their simplicity really draws you into the image. You focus all on your little one’s face and not on the colors and distractions around them.

I cannot decide which one I like doing best. Being a maternity photographer or a newborn photographer.
There is nothing more exciting than getting to sit down and talk to a new mom or a mom who is having another baby, about what is to come. Nothing in this world is more exciting than talking to someone about bringing another life into this world.
For new moms, its that excitement of the unknown. For moms like Audra, where Virginia is her third baby, it is all about how the siblings will be with the new baby. It is about how life will change so much, for the better of course. It never gets old and its a conversation I love having over and over with different moms during their maternity sessions.
Audra’s maternity session took place in Central Texas. She owns so many acres of gorgeous property. The different shots were endless. This one is one of my favorites, a country sunset.

Audra was absolutely stunning in her portraits. After each gown and pose, I would have a new favorite.
This shot of her on the tree turned out gorgeous! If you guys only knew the struggle behind this image. Thankfully her husband was there to help get her up and down, it was not as easy as it looks! But she was able to sit back, smile, and pull off an amazing maternity picture.

This pose with just the maternity belly is my favorite. I always document this one! Years later, it’s amazing to look back at and picture your little baby all curled up in your belly.
When she was in the eggplant couture gown, I thought it was my favorite. Then she changed into the gold couture gown and I was even more in love. She just radiates beauty.
At the end, she knew she wanted some maternity water shots and I am so glad she did because they turned out amazing!

Sweet Sebastian came into MJ’s Photography studio when he was just 10 days old. He was such an amazing little sleeper for me. He curled up into the sweetest little poses. His little smile just made my day. Mom and dad went home with a canvas of that sweet smile. That is such a treasure to look at everyday!
He had the cutest little cheeks! They were just so squishy. He loved having his hands right up by his face, which was fine with me they made the poses even sweeter.
Sebastian looked so handsome in blue. He curled up into the newborn basket and gave me the sweetest little smirk. I’m pretty sure he is going to be tall, look at his long feet. I couldn’t get them.
Daddy is a Arkansas Razorback fan so including this onsie in his newborn portraits was a must. When he gave me another little smile, I just knew daddy was going to love this one!
All swaddled
Sebastian all swaddled up with a little bear hat. He has the most gorgeous lips that I have seen on a newborn.

The taco pose is always my favorite newborn pose. His tiny fingers, toes, and lips all in one close up image.
Look at these sweet little back rolls! Swoon! Why is that rolls just look so cute on babies? I am in love. That little lip pucker just makes me giggle. I love how his little personality shines through in these portraits!

Living near a military town in Houston Texas, means that I get to capture a lot of homecoming sessions! Being a homecoming photographer allows me to relate to my clients on a personal and an emotional level. ( I cry during every single one!)
Here is how their homecoming session went.
I got there early with Emily and got to learn so much about her and her family. He deployed pretty soon after they got married. She started learning to do ballet while she was at home, which is so amazing! Emily said that after she got past the fact that she was in classes with young girls, it was fantastic. She moved home while her husband was deployed, which is what most military wives do since it gets lonely. She came home just in time for his homecoming ceremony.
Being a Homecoming photographer is a blast. Sitting there waiting with them, the anticipation just builds up for the both of us. The text messages saying that they are on the bus and the announcers saying that they are almost here, just builds up on all of that excitement!
Most homecoming sessions get moved three to four times once they are scheduled. That is the hardest part about being a Homecoming photographer. You have to be able to drop everything, rearrange other sessions, and find a sitter with only a couple of hours of notice. It is worth it in the end, but they are not for everyone!

Aubree- 6 days new MJ’s Photography | Fort Bend newborn photographer
Bow by https://www.etsy.com/shop/LuckyCrickets
Miss Aubree was a doll during her newborn portrait session with MJ’s Photography. She was so full of beautiful smiles. Aubree had a head full of dark hair and the sweetest little dimple every time that she would smile. Her family traveled a couple of hours for her newborn session and I am so glad they did!
She rocked her “potato sack” pose. (seen above) That pose is just my favorite because it lets you see their little faces in all their glory!
Big sister Ansley is such a happy and easy-going toddler. She was full of smiles, laughter, and fun. She adores her baby sister and was very eager to hold her for some sibling photos. Sibling photos are not always quite this easy with young toddlers.
We did some family photos before we started Aubree’s newborn session. We were tucked away in the shade in a nice little field.
Such a gorgeous family with two beautiful girls!

After we did some outdoor family portraits, we moved inside for some sibling photos as well as Aubree’s newborn portraits. Ansley and Aubree did so well! I just adore this sweet moment.
Aubree went into each pose and even smiled for quite a few. Doesn’t she look perfect in this mustard bow?

Military Homecomings are such a special event. A short ceremony is put together for each unit coming home. Families and soldiers have been apart from anywhere from 9 months to a year. It takes such strong men and strong women to endure these deployments! Being a Houston family photographer is an honor. It is one of the most emotional and enjoyable sessions that I do. It is a moment that can only be captured once. Understanding the importance of capturing “the moment,” is so important. That first glance, the first hug, the first kiss, and those tears of joy. It all matters, it all tells the beautiful story.
The Fischer’s family photos in Houston meant even more to me, Laura and I are close friends. Seeing their family whole again was nothing short of amazing. When Laura cried, I cried. Who wouldn’t cry during a homecoming? They are so full of emotion! I cry at every single one!
I get there early with all my clients. We capture the moments of them waiting, texting their soldier, and seeing those white buses pull up with them inside. This documents their story from start to finish! Every client deserves their story to be told beautifully.
Here is the Fischer’s story. ( I selected a few out of their enormous gallery)

MJ’s Photography does Newborn photography sugar land that has a studio located near Katy, Texas. MJ’s Photography specializes in Newborn, Maternity, and Family portraits.
I got the pleasure of photographing Macee’s mommy’s maternity portraits, Macee’s birth, and Macee’s newborn portraits. Being able to document this amazing time in their life was truly a blessing. Macee had already changed looks from when I took her pictures during birth. They grow and they change so fast!
Her daddy is in the Army, so capturing her with her daddy in his uniform during her newborn session was necessary. I can not think of anything sweeter.
(Note- this shot was completely safe. Mom was standing right next to Macee)
Here she is all swaddled up sleeping on her daddy’s uniform. Look at that little foot print showing through the pink swaddle. <3
Macee’s mommy requested a portrait of Macee wearing her (Macee’s mom) outfit that she wore home from the hospital. I’ve never had this request before and it turned out amazing! It was still in perfect condition.
Macee shared so many smiles during her newborn portrait session. She has this adorable dimple that just makes you smile every time she smiles.
Here are some other favorites from her newborn portrait session. I love baby toes! They are absolutely perfect.
MJ creates beautiful Fulshear newborn portraits and is located in Katy Texas.
I was so excited when I met with Teddy’s mom before his session. She brought big brother along to the studio and I got to know him a little bit before hand. They are a military family and Dad would be getting out the week Teddy was born! Talk about stressful. Changing jobs, moving states, all with a newborn and a toddler! Whew! We had a week to fit him in, and I am so glad we were able to do it!
Of course since his name is Teddy, we had to do a setup in his newborn session with a teddy bear. Oh and dress him like a Teddy bear too! Look at those precious newborn lips!
Newborn sessions are my calling. When I get to meet these sweet babies, my mind and my heart work together to make each session unique and tailored to each baby.
Since Daddy was getting out of the military and big brother had his newborn session with Daddy’s gear, we had to do a military setup for Teddy. It’s hard to imagine that one day Teddy’s feet will fit into those boots.

Sometimes sibling shots are the hardest. When Big brothers are toddlers, they are not quite sure what to expect with all of the changes. It took some time…and some goldfish, but we got it!

Do you know the feeling when you see your newborn baby smile? I get that same feeling when they smile on camera. Heart melted!
