These sessions are typically scheduled within the first two weeks of the baby’s birth, as during this time, newborns are still very sleepy and easily poseable.
During the session, the photographer will carefully position the baby, making sure they are comfortable and safe, and use specialized lighting techniques to create a soft and flattering look. The goal of studio newborn photography is to capture the beauty and innocence of the newborn, highlighting their delicate features, tiny fingers and toes, and perfect little expressions.
The session typically lasts between 2-4 hours, allowing plenty of time for feeding, diaper changes, and soothing the baby. Parents are encouraged to participate in the session, and many photographers offer a variety of props and backdrops to create a unique and personalized look.
