Brittany and her family drove over 3 hours from Fort Hood to come to Houston for her maternity portraits.
When clients drive this far for my portraits, it is such an honor. It is also very nerve wrecking ha ha! There is no reshoot option for these sessions! But I think…no I know…we NAILED these!
I also got to take Brittany’s maternity portraits when she was pregnant with Lorelai and of course Lorelai’s newborn portraits. This round, she is having a little boy! I cannot wait to meet him.

Katy Texas, near Houston, has the best place to go see your precious bundle at Stork Vision! You can see your little one as early as 10 weeks! Check out their website for more information about newborns.
I just went and visited them and got some amazing displays put up! You have to go check them out. They can do some detail videos and portraits of your little bundle in your tummy. They also have a live video so you can see how your appointment will go.

Melissa contacted me before I moved to the Katy area about her maternity and newborn portraits. Once I moved down to Houston, we had a wonderful consultation at her house in Conroe, Texas. We got to look at possible wall art locations, get to know each other, look at products, as well as try on lots of gowns! The fun part!
Melissa’s favorite was the Burgundy gown. I love this gown on her. It is such a perfect color for the scenery she envisioned. She is 33 weeks and looks so perfect pregnant. I love the deep and beautiful colors here.

Kevin’s favorite gown was the rust gown. He said that she looked like a “nature goddess.” I do love this one on her. It goes perfectly with the crown that she made! Isn’t she glowing. The sun is stunning too.
I’m obsessed with this one. This dress, this pose, and that perfect baby belly. I can’t wait to meet little Auiden. He is already so loved. The excitement his momma had just showing me his chubby little cheeks in his 4D ultrasound photo, just made me even more excited for his newborn session.

The last gown is the gold gown. The fancy gown as we called it. Kevin was all dressed up to match his beautiful wife. I love these so much! I would put these all over my walls if they were me!
Kevin tossed the gown for us to give us that flowy look. On one toss he threw it completely over her head! He practiced just a little to hard for this maternity session.

We saw these orange flowers on the side of the road and I just had to capture her with them. It happened to be raining during her entire session, but we didn’t stress. We made it work!

Look how gorgeous she looks back in the Texas woods. I can’t get over how photogenic she is.
We went to another location off of the highway and we changed into the gown by Couture Parfait. Purple is her favorite color. So how perfect was it that the wisteria was in full bloom!
Brandi lost her son last year and to honor him, we wanted to include a rainbow setup in her Fulshear maternity pictures. I love how this one turned out.

Kaelie and Garrett are expecting their first baby. Kash will be born in the next couple months and I cannot wait to meet him.
Kaelie selected Synergy park for her maternity portrait location and it turned out beautiful! Synergy park is full of pine trees and gorgeous water. This was my first time shooting there and it is a favorite.
Kaelie chose a Burgundy gown for one of her gown choices and it contrasted perfectly with the pine trees. Look at how gorgeous she is.

As we walked around the lake we saw the most adorable baby ducks. Of course I wanted to get some images of the baby ducks in the background. Look how cute they are?
I saw this rock as we were pulling into the park and instantly wanted to capture her on it. This gown and this rock are magical! She is absolutely stunning!

Ashley came to me wanting a “maternity session”…but she isn’t pregnant. No matter how hard she has tried, she isn’t pregnant. Her story does not have a happy ending…not yet, but it will. She is going to be an amazing mother…one day.

Ashley and Carter endured the stressful and strenuous rounds of IVF and had 3 precious embryos, which they learned were all baby girls. Baby girls that they would never get to see grow up. She said that she didn’t feel justified in mourning her 3 girls because they technically weren’t babies. But they were. They were their babies and they are allowed to be sad over them.
In the top left corner is the piece of paper that her Doctor gave her letting her know that her 3 embryos were girls.
“Most days I feel excited for what’s in store for us. I see women with children and it makes me happy and sad at the same time. Sad for our 3 daughters we never got to meet, but happy for the child I know we will have one day through adoption. I hear about teenage pregnancies and think about the wonderful life I could give that child’s child. I hear about women who hurt their children or use drugs during their pregnancy and my blood boils. I sit in the glider in our empty nursery every few days or so and think about what it will be like when I am holding our baby in my arms. It’s one of the places I feel most at peace. We have the entire nursery set up so we are prepared at any moment.”
“My husband and I have filed our FMLA paperwork and have been saving our sick leave so we can afford to stay home for a little while and get settled after he or she arrives. I even have a carseat base properly installed in my car so that when I get the call and cannot contain my excitement, I won’t have to fiddle with safely installing it. I have a diaper bag packed with boy clothes and girl clothes of different sizes, as well as diapers, different types of pacifiers, and the baby blanket I had as an infant.”
“I can’t think of anything else we could need- except our child.”
“Most days I am going on about my life as if nothing has changed in the last 10 months. But then there are the other days. The bad days. They don’t happen very often, but they do happen.”

“Sometimes the feelings build up for so long that the only thing I can do to feel any sort of relief is to let the tears fall from my eyes. It still hurts. It hurts that my body, for some unknown reason, could not give my 3 daughters life.”
” It hurts to think that I should be in the stages of being so pregnant that I am complaining that I can’t sleep and that I just want her to “be here already.” I should be getting close to weekly doctor’s visits to check how soon we might anticipate her arrival. I should be planning her first Thanksgiving and Christmas. Yet I’m here with nothing to show for the warI fought except hips that are still sore 6 months later from all the progesterone injections.”
“I think about the money we spent on IVF and I feel guilty for putting that type of financial strain on my family.”
“I still hope every month that some miracle will happen, and I still feel defeated when it doesn’t.”
I have family and friends who know the right thing to say, even if they don’t realize it. My husband still goes with me to get pedicures and we both get pink polish for our little girls. People frequently ask him why his toenails are pink and he readily tells them our story. I am not shy about sharing our story either because so many women suffer in silence. I never want them to feel alone. I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason, no matter if you can’t see the reason at first.

“I have been through tough times in my life and come out on the other side stronger and more appreciative of the life I have. I don’t believe you can truly appreciate all the blessings in your life until you’ve struggled. Sometimes I feel like “why me?” but in reality, why not me? Maybe there is something I need to do first or learn first. I will never have a definitive answer. For now I will do what I’ve been doing.”

This gorgeous bride happened to bring her fur baby along and of course he had to be included.
We wanted a different scenery than we typically get around here, so we traveled a little over an hour for Lake Caddo! It’s mossy waters gave the perfect landscape for our session.
We had some amazing vendors for our maternity/bridal styled session. They were so perfect in every way.
